ANIMAL HEALTH & WELFARE IS...
It goes without saying that farmers have an ethical responsibility to protect the health and welfare of their animals, but optimising animal health and welfare is also a fundamental component of food safety, farm efficiency and sustainability.
Rearing Wagyu beef cattle in a stress-free environment is essential to ensure they achieve their full potential when it comes to marbling, which is primarily responsible for Wagyu beef's exceptional flavour and tenderness.
Our Wagyu beef cattle are reared alongside our dairy youngstock, which are RSPCA farm assured, by our skilled team, to the highest standards of animal health and welfare. We believe our animals should have a 'good life' and not just a 'life worth living'.
Prevention is always better than cure so we ensure that we have robust disease control plans in place to keep all of our animals healthy, and work closely with several well-respect veterinary specialists to ensure we remain at the forefront of disease control.
By optimising nutrition, housing, grazing and management, in combination with vaccination programmes, we are able to minimise our use of antibiotics and anthelminthics, only using them when absolutely necessary.
